I urge everyone to go watch Leslie Byrne's new TV ad and 5-minute biographical video. If you can watch this and honestly say you don't think Leslie Byrne will make a GREAT Lt. Governor, then you're either: a) part of the Kilgore campaign; b) really dense; and/or c) a hard-core, hard-ass, incorrigible right-wing Republican. Sorry, Bill Bolling, but Leslie Byrne outclasses you by about 10 zillion light years. Oh, and speaking of Bill "Gutter" Bolling, did you see the news story about how he had to be aware of the massive fraud and conspiracy going on at his company, the Reciprocal Group (aka, the "Enron of the Insurance Industry")? Specifically:
...former claims department employees say Bolling knew that money Reciprocal had set aside as "case reserves" to pay settlements or court judgments in specific claims against its clients were being arbitrarily reduced."He would have known that there was a problem with taking reserves down," said Mike Owens, a senior underwriter for Reciprocal for 10 years.
"Bolling was the one giving me the direct orders not to increase a reserve once recommended and to reduce reserves on even catastrophic cases," Woods said.
By the way, the former company President and Vice President both pleaded guilty to "conspiracy to commit insurance fraud and other charges" related to Enron..er, Reciprocal's collapse. Each was sentenced to multi-year prison terms. And Bill Bolling, who worked with those people? He's running for Lt. Governor of Virginia! What a great country!
