The Hitler Strategy

Jerry Kilgore has no decency, but we knew that. The latest round of slimy television ads have taken Kilgore's character down below the level of mud, or of tar pits, but rather deep into the inner circles of Hell.

Rather than simply, say, focus on Virginia issues, death-obsessed Republican Jerry Kilgore has unveiled an ad with intent so vitriolic its only saving grace is that it may catapult itself into the vaunted halls of campaign advertising where the Willie Horton and Daisy ads reside in timeless infamy.

Never did I imagine Adolf Hitler's name would be passed in campaign ads. Shows how naive I am.

Let's backtrack a little. Before the Kilgore campaign began hacking at the raw emotion of the electorate, they elected to advertise the juvenile with a crudely animated spot depicting Tim Kaine eating cars, houses, and gasoline, shamelessly repeating "liberal" over and over again. The death penalty ads take the cake.

Watch the ad.

Kilgore charges, through the use of a well-selected surrogate (not unlike the Swift Boat Liars) to charge that Kaine would not execute Adolf Hitler. In the Hitler Ad, Kilgore destroys any shred of decency he halfway deserved.

The Hitler Ad claims that Tim Kaine is directly responsible for the actions of his clients. Jerry Kilgore blindly soldiers on with his vicious emotional appeal and ignores all tenets of justice.

Calm down, I say with trepidation.

What would happen if no one stood up for defendants in our justice system, like Jerry Kilgore apparently wants? Untold numbers of innocent, disadvantaged people caught up in a legal system stacked against them, lacking the resources to find competent counsel, would be facing lethal injection.

I do not believe in the death penalty. Why kill over killing? Why risk killing an innocent man? Let murderers rot in prison. A clean death is something I don't believe in for them.

Jerry Kilgore is nothing more than a slimy gob of phlegm. I've had it with him.

Tim Kaine has stated repeatedly that his opposition to the death penalty is rooted in his strong Christian faith, which should be a non-issue. However, this begs the question: Why does Jerry Kilgore insist on attacking Kaine's faith, going so far as to insist that he would not execute Adolf Hitler?

Kilgore is nothing more than a weak-kneed coward for referring to the horrific killings of the Nazi Party and relating them to Tim Kaine. Has he run out of intelligent arguments? Is he on his last legs? Jerry Kilgore deserves complete damnation and condemnation for airing his latest ad. Perhaps the Republican Party of Virginia should run someone with a shred of decency.

The ads are stunningly effective in the sense they successfully send down the intelligence of the voting populace. By exploiting murders to elect a slimy pansy governor, Kilgore uses their stories to cast out the demons of knowledge of how the legal system works, replacing notions of fair justice and replacing them with an angry mob of emotionally charged furor.

What is wrong with you, Jerry Kilgore?

But seriously Kaine (John Culoc - 4/4/2006 11:28:42 PM)
But seriously Kaine is a total Nazi, i have personally seen him kill jews.

Tim Kaine should not (Larry Diogenese - 4/4/2006 11:28:42 PM)
Tim Kaine should not be backtracking now and making promises to Democrat Commonwealth Attorneys that he will not grant clemency in their respective death penalty conviction cases.

Paul Ebert of Prince William County said that Kaine promised him that he would not stand in the way of John Allen Muhammad's execution.  That is putting the cart before the horse - let Mr. Muhammad have every opportunity in the courts system and a fair opportunity to file for clemency with the Governor's office when the time comes, regardless of whether Kaine or Kilgore is in office.

He's trying to make (Josh - 4/4/2006 11:28:42 PM)
He's trying to make Kaine look like he's "soft on criminals."

“soft on criminals”

You may want to reconsider that position.

Clearly Jerry W. Kilgore can’t claim to have reduced gun violence by 55% at any time in his career. Tim Kaine did just that when Mayor of Richmond.

When Jerry Kilgore ran the prisons of Virginia, escapes went up by 300%. In an interview, Kilgore is quoted as saying the following, “Yesterday we went the entire day without an escape. That’s a positive day for Virginia.” WOW! Talk about tough on crime. A whole day without an escape. I can see how you’d be especially pleased with that. Makes me feel safer already!

But as long as your prisons are hemoraging prisoners like a sieve, why not help them get some illegal drugs? Jerry Kilgore wouldn’t take common sense measure to curb the spread of Crystal Meth use, the biggest drug problem faced in rural Virginia. Maybe that has something to do with the hundreds of thousands of dollars in campaign contributions that Jerry W. got from King Pharmaceutical, maybe not?

Well, I wonder who really is “soft on criminals”.

as Waldo would say Pot meet Kettle.
