You know what, I was going to write my own advice to the Kaine campaign on responding to Jerry Kilgore's vicious, scumbag, Scott "Black Hands" Howell-ian "Hitler ads" that he released today. But why waste my time and energy, when Waldo Jaquith has said it brilliantly and better than I ever could. So, here's my advice. Everyone on the Kaine campaign: go read what Waldo has to say. Right. Now.
Oh, and one more thing. If the Democrats lose this election because they were afraid to be as nasty and vicious as the Kilgore campaign, than they DESERVE TO LOSE. This is not some game here, people. This is about the future of our state, and more broadly the future of our country. Either we just concede and turn it over to the right-wing fanatics, or we fight for our mainstream, progressive American values before it's too late. And if you think this is alarmist, then you need to have someone slap you in the face a few times. Or just do it yourself. Either way, wake the f*** up and realize what's going on here!
Sorry to be so harsh...wait a minute, NO, I'm NOT sorry to be so harsh. I'm sick of this crap: good, decent men like Al Gore, John McCain, Max Cleland, John Kerry and Tom Daschle being torn down by the lowest of the low, like Jerry Kilgore, Scott Howell and Karl Rove. We MUST stop these people here in Virginia. As Waldo says, "This campaign is now a knife fight. The last man standing wins. Tim Kaine can lose with dignity, or he can win fighting. I advocate the latter."
I agree with Waldo, 110%. Now, who's with Waldo in denouncing - and fighting, "balls out!" -- Kilgore's "Hitler" ad, and the whole despicable mentality behind it? Four weeks to go: let's show these Republicans what we Fighting Democrats are made of!
