Since right now Mr Gilmore's blog is (as so often with him) a heap big front and no back yard, i.e., a headline and no follow-up substance--- I can only assume the gentleman is staking out a spaceholding claim.  In other words, he intends to go for some other office in the near future. Run it up the flagpole and see who salutes, eh?
