DPVA Website Looking Better

Several months ago, I gave the DPVA some rough grades for its website. I'm not interested in issuing any more report cards right now (ever?), but I will definitely say that the website is improving. What I'm seeing is an increased amount of activity (aka, "dynamism"), more and better information, excellent press releases, an updated calandar, and strong highlighting of candidates and important upcoming events on the front page. The next step is to really crank up the "social networking" features, get the campaigns using them, and really start kicking butt!
P.S. The first Democratic "netroots caucus" meeting was held on Saturday, July 21, and I thought it went well. If nothing else, it gave many of us a chance to "put faces with names." Although the meeting was off the record, I CAN report that the Democratic Party's cake tradition is an excellent one. :) Thanks to Amy Reger for that, as well as the guided tour of the great new HQ.

And the LGBT Pages Are Great! (K - 7/26/2007 4:08:58 PM)
It's just wonderful to see that the state party welcomes gay and lesbian Virginians, and is so dedicated to ensuring their full and equal rights in Virginia!
PWCDC web site guru and DPVA met recently. Good exchange (Tom Counts - 7/27/2007 10:36:03 AM)
At our Prince William County Dem. Committee monthly meeting last evening we learned that our PWCDC web site developer/adminsitrator and I think a couple of other web techies met with their counterparts at DPVA to exchange info. and ideas for improvement of both web sites. Most committee members (including me) expected that our web guys would be asking the DPVA guys for ideas about how to improve our PWCDC web site. But we were pleasantly surprised to hear that it was mostly the opposite. Not that our web site is so great, although it has been dramitically improved since last year. I think the Hampton Roads site is the best I've ever seen, not just in Va.
This is an indication to me that our DPVA web leader is really serious about improving the site and is constantly looking for better ideas from anyone who can help him do that. Doesn't this sharing of resources sound familiar ? Maybe like our principle of sharing campaign resources to elect Dems. ?

"Off the record" "netroots caucus" ??? (Dianne - 7/27/2007 1:11:16 PM)
That sounds like an oxymoron to me.
Since you were there, is there any word on instituting Newsletters, Demo Memos, or e-mail notifications of events, training?
It would be nice to know.
