Compare that to Democrats who want to give local governments the power to say "No" to new development that threatens to overwhelm already crowded roadways, ensure all Virginia children have the benefit of a good educational start in life, and give homeowners up to 20% cut in property tax relief.

Saturday will begin the 100-day countdown to the November elections. The result of that election is important because it will set the tone for Virginia and our values for decades to come. If extremist Republicans dominate the General Assembly, they will carve up the Commonwealth, drawing legislative districts that allow only extreme, right-wing candidates to be elected. Those guys don't get Virginia! They don't understand our values and what's important for our families.That's why the Democratic Party of Virginia is asking you to get involved in the upcoming elections. Over the coming weeks, we will tell you about several events and volunteer opportunities in your area. And, yes, sometimes we will even ask you for money. $100, $50, or even $10 will do. We just want you to feel invested in this election because the outcome will affect you.
This weekend, you can help us kick off the 100-day countdown with Gov. Kaine at our Summer Celebration in McLean. There you will find all kinds of information on how you can volunteer to help us turn Virginia BLUE in 2007.

In other good news, Todd Smyth reports that "[t]he buzz about Margi Vanderhye last night was that she is so good, her race is in danger of being put in the 'safe' column but let's keep the pressure on and follow through."
