The anti-abusive driver fees petition continues to move forward. Not at the same pace as previous weeks, but it's still moving. If you haven't already (what? you live under a rock?), please sign it and tell the (mostly) Republicans that you don't like this sort of flat-earth legislation. Keep spreading the word.For those of you who do support the fees I urge you to reconsider. A good number of pro-abusive fees supporters cite traffic safety (or the lack thereof) as a reason to support this garbage. I agree - we absolutely need to improve road safety and curb aggressive and irresponsible driving. But let's do it right.
Once we get this terrible law off the books I am very much in favor of re-opening the discussion about much needed improvements to traffic safety. But this is NOT the bill - the fees in this bill are/were, plain and simple, a revenue generating tax dodge. Let's fix the misleading law first and then address the safety issue properly - as it's own bill.
