Even worse, though, is the absolutely pitiful decision by PBS affiliate WETA-TV26 to not air the debate at all! What ARE they airing tomorrow night at 7 PM that's so important they can't postpone it for the critical, last gubernatorial debate between Tim Kaine and Jerry Kilgore? Yes, you guessed it, it's the fascinating, critical and time-sensitive "Cuba: Wild Island of the Caribbean."
Look, I'm just as fascinated by the Cuban jewel ant and bee hummingbird as anyone else. But c'mon now, isn't it just a weeeeeee bit more important to the "public" (as in "public" broadcasting) to show a debate - three weeks before the election -- that very well could determine the next governor of Virginia? Duhhhhhh.....
Here's the "carrot and stick" deal I'll offer WETA TV-26. Carrot: if you SHOW the debate, I'll promise to keep donating money to your station. I'll also urge everyone I know, not to mention the thousands of RaisingKaine readers in Northern Virginia, to do the same. Stick: if you DON'T show the debate, not only won't my wife and I ever donate another penny to you, but I will STRONGLY urge everyone I know, not to mention the thousands of RaisingKaine readers in Northern Virginia, to do the same.
Deal?
Thanks.
