Today I joined a large number of Democrats marching in the Fairfax City Fourth of July parade. Fantastic day for a parade - the weather was great for July and a large crowd of spectators was on hand. We were honored to be joined this year by Governor Kaine and many of the NOVA region candidates marched as well... or had supporters around to represent them. Ben has the body counts up over at NLS - and its safe to say that the Democrats made a very strong showing.
I shot tons of photos - hitting almost 400 on the counter. Of those, I've picked out a few of my favorites to show now. I'll try to upload a number of the others sometime during the next few days... so many photos, so little time.
Enjoy.
One thing that I found astounding was the Chap signage on the streets around the parade. It seemed like every house had a sign up. The republicans had some signs up on some medians, but Chap was completely dominating the home yard sign war. Those signs stay, and I couldn't help feeling like Fairfax was where this year would be fought and won by Democrats.
