A few weeks ago I nearly spun out when I saw what clearly looked like a Rudy Giuliani for President sign along Rt. 3 in Fredericksburg. I thought; wow, his campaign means business. Later I discovered that a Republican named Laura Rudy (bottom), who'll face Independent Patricia Kurpiel in November, had jumped in the race for Stafford Co. Treasurer. Obviously there are some differences between Laura Rudy and Rudy Giuliani's campaign logo (center). But when you're driving 45 mph, the sun's in your face and you're looking at a small sign surrounded by grass badly in need of mowing, blue and purple are pretty much the same thing.
Then last night, out of the corner of my eye, I spot my Rudy DVD (top) underneath my TV. That movie came out in 1993, the year Giuliani was elected Mayor of NYC. hmmmm.
