Did she really say on Monday, on Good Morning America, that she hoped John Edwards would be "killed in a terrorist assassination plot?" I didn't see it or know the context, but on the surface it would appear to be a hateful remark calling for principled and decisive reaction by all fair-minded Americans.
Remember how the NRA and others got Jim Zumbo's Outdoors Channel show cancelled for his remarks against using assault weapons in hunting? Couldn't we do something similar and mount a movement to boycott Coulter's corporate allies?

coulter (martha - 6/28/2007 4:41:59 PM)
I think she was criticized for implying Edwards was gay several months ago at some conservative convention ( where she also said republicans were more attractive than Democrats for which she received loud applause) so when asked about it she said Ok from now on I'll just say I wish he had been killed in a terrorist attack.( something to that effect)
As some talking heads today stated....debating or "discussing" anything w/ her is like a boxer fighting a martial arts guy. The boxer can only use his/her fists but the martial arts guy can kick etc. Pretty good analogy.
I can't stand her but I am drawn to shows where she appears because it's like watching a car wreck. I think one person who could have held her own w/ Coulter was Molly Ivins and sadly she is gone. Maybe Al Franken.
Drama follows (JScott - 6/28/2007 8:36:20 PM)
Drama follows wherever she goes. Thats her pitch and people buy it. Look at the ratings of her spots, look at her book sales. I would point out that she is extremely popular with younger college audiences which is where she was when the first shot was thrown against Edwards and they cheered. That was sad enough but then Bill Mare gives her ammo with his Cheney should be killed by terrorist thing (which was also highly inappropriate and offensive)and she turned it around and uses the same language saying Edwards should be. None of these people, Coulter, Sharpton, Franken, Mare provide very much to the national debate, they simply seek to continue to divide America into two camps of which they intend to exploit for money...ALL of them are profiteers. I imagine Coulter sleeps well, I just cant see how.
Here's Elizabeth's Edwards' Response (Not Harry F. Byrd, Sr. - 6/28/2007 4:54:16 PM)
Ann Coulter is a horrible human being. (Lowell - 6/28/2007 5:39:37 PM)
Why is she being invited on TV shows?
Because of Ratings (jackiehva - 6/29/2007 5:22:57 PM)
n the part of the TV guys and the money--big money--for Coulter. She's one nasty b***h (rhymes with witch). I couldn't believe what I heard she said about John Edwards. She's just a hateful money-making machine. She should be sent the way of Imus.
Elizabeth Edwards can hold her own with ANYONE (WillieStark - 6/28/2007 5:41:01 PM)
Notice how Coulter just keeps attacking? (Lowell - 6/28/2007 5:45:05 PM)
Apparently, that's all she knows how to do. A common right-wing trait, sad to say.
Furious (mmc0412 - 6/29/2007 10:00:24 AM)
You are right on Lowell. It infuriates me that all these people can do is attack the character of someone to "support" their arguments. To me that just shows how weak they are on real substance. Elizabeth Edwards is right and I'm proud she took on Coulter. Sadly, it probably won't do any good, but at least she got the message out there that the general public is sick of these vicious attacks and would rather see some good, intellectual debate.
Here's how... (Bubby - 6/28/2007 5:15:43 PM)
You find out what media gives her air time. You make a list of advertisers that purchase advertising from that media. Then you contact those advertisers, tell them what you object to, in this case "Ann Coulter's hateful, personal attacks, and a de-basing of the political process", and you ask the advertiser if they support that behavior. Use a few of her quotes, they speak for themselves.
And you post a list of all Ann Coulter advertisers and media outlets, let others join the fun! As for her book sales...well, consider that a tax on ignorant hateful people.
Fun with Ann Coulter (The Grey Havens - 6/28/2007 6:01:21 PM)
She says horrible things to get a reaction from us (Fluvanna Democrat - 6/28/2007 6:44:33 PM)
The most powerful thing those of us who find her offensive can do is to simply ignore her. Change the channel, tune to a different radio station, and let program sponsors know you're tuning out. But to give her the satisfaction of knowing she's caused a stir by chattering about it is just feeding the beast.
Anne Coulter is the Paris Hilton of Politics (relawson - 6/28/2007 8:23:07 PM)
Nuff said.
Why does anyone care about any of (Lowell - 6/28/2007 8:41:26 PM)
these people? I don't get it.
I think she needs a visit from the Secret Service. (Susan P. - 6/28/2007 10:26:20 PM)
Really, she was encouraging an attack on a presidential candidate. People have been investigated for far less.
I can't stand to listen to her even for a second. Why was she even on Good Morning America and Chris Matthews? It seems that the major networks should have better judgment.
By the way, I find it difficult to listen to Bill Maher too. There's got to be a better way to make a point. Even though he's occasionally funny, you have to wade through so much self-righteous vitriol, it's hard to keep listening until he gets to the punchline.
The thing I hate most about Coulter (mkfox - 6/29/2007 2:23:32 AM)
isn't so much that she's a bitchy, narscistic hatemonger but that people pay her, give her book deals and TV appearances! I'm sorry to say Coulter and people like her will believe what they believe but we sure as hell shouldn't humor them with book deals and paychecks!
A vengeful Ann Coulter (Teddy - 6/29/2007 3:00:00 PM)
is even more nauseating. Read her response to the Edwards comments, and be sure to read comments from her readers: http://www.humaneven...
If you thought the original on air interview was disgusting, try this on for size.
I have said for some time that Ann Coulter is feral, and should be caged... in both senses of the word.
Caged in the sense of a wild critter, and caged in the sense of being removed from the rolls of voters (i.e., the rolls of adult citizens).
Take her to the Supreme Court (Rebecca - 6/29/2007 5:10:23 PM)
Let me see if I understand. Holding up a sign saying "Bong hits for Jesus" is illegal because it advocates the use of illegal drugs, but advocating the assassination of a member of Congress (or anyone else) on national TV is legal. Last time I checked murder is illegal so what's wrong with this picture? Welcome to the new Republican concept of free speech. Kill our leaders but don't do drugs.
