Setting the record straight

I do not have literature for either Jeannemarie or Dave Marsden, and I have not been knocking on doors this year at all.
I supported Dave two years ago because I knew he'd be the best person for the job and am proud that he won and has been an outstanding Delegate. I will be supporting Jeannemarie this year in her re-election campaign because she has done a great job as Senator.
Now that I've set the record straight, I hope the unfounded speculation and rumors will be quashed.
Respectfully,
Jim Dillard

Thanks (PeteHackeman - 6/27/2007 4:56:03 PM)
Thank you Jim for clearing this up for everyone and for your years of highly respectable service. You set a great example for Virginians, and I just wish more Republicans would follow that example.
Thanks you also to Lowell, who has done what most newspapers would never think of: he put the "correction" at the same prominence as the mistaken story. Everybody makes mistakes, and you've handled yourself admirably in this affair.
Now, who wants to come canvass with Dave for Chap, Janet and George?
My mistake was not checking (Lowell - 6/27/2007 4:59:36 PM)
with more sources on this story, including with Dave Marsden himself. My apologies to Del. Marsden...I'm very glad to hear that all is well between you and Chap!
The straightened record? (brimur - 6/27/2007 5:41:52 PM)
Delegate Dillard- while we have you on here- would you say it would be more or less unethical to bundle the literature of two candidates you support than it was to vote for the divisive GOP redistricting plan back in 2000?
Bi-Partisanship (Lee Diamond - 6/28/2007 12:15:13 AM)
Bi-partisanship is a good thing. Jim Dillard was a Republican, perhaps he still is. At one time, Jim Webb was a Republican. Let it go. Today, and since he supported Dave for Delegate, Jim has played a more positive role in politics than......hmmmm.......shall we say Gerry Connolly? God, I hate to have to write that name out. It really does cause me to gag. I'm sorry.
Dems should not be attacking Jim Dillard until we clean up our own mess.
There is a time for partisanship and a time for bi-partisanship.
The devious Lord of Fairfax has no interest in being a leader. He has no interest in building consensus and imho he is not worthy of support.
I understand that people disagree with me, but this is a subject that should not be swept under the rug. I am not going to support Gary Baise. I am considering a protest vote and perhaps a website.
