Last Chance for In-Person Absentee Voting

Saturday is the last day to cast an in-person absentee ballot. If you live in Fairfax County, you can cast your ballot at the Fairfax County Government Center.

As you may know, Celebrate Fairfax is currently being held on the grounds of the Government Center and some of you may be concerned about trying to get through the crowds.  If anyone is hesitant to go to the Center to vote, let me assure you that the elections officials have done a great job this year to get absentee voters around the crowds.

There are signs on Government Parkway that direct absentee voters to the "Green Gate" which is the main entrance to the Government Center.  At the entrance there is a guard and several people in blue vests emblazoned with "ELECTIONS".  They are very anxious to help.
The Elections people will give you a card for your dash and direct you into the Center's underground parking.  There are several other people with blue vests along the way to direct you and open the garage.  Inside the garage there is reserved parking for absentee voters next to the elevators.  A quick trip up the elevator brings you right to the Elections Board office and the absentee voting.  The whole process takes about 20 minutes.

I think the Board of Elections deserves a round of thanks for the excellent job they have done to keep the absentee voting accessable during Celebrate Fairfax.
