CROSS-POSTED AT POWER CONCEDES and BORED YOUNG PROFESSIONALS

UPDATE: Yesterday, Greg's opponent realized he could not win without resorting to disgusting anti-democratic propaganda. The negative onslaught began with a nasty mail piece that masqueraded as a neutral voter guide and distorted Greg's record. Greg's opponent apparently believes he has to trick voters in order to win.

Now more than ever we need to prove that a nasty negative campaign should not and will not work. Please join us in the 100 Hours to Victory.

As I posted earlier, yesterday's remarkable performance of turning out tons of volunteers, including Delegate David Englin, in the rain proved just how dedicated Greg Galligan and his team are to taking back the State Senate this fall. Go to Power Concedes for a picture.

And as JMU Duke reports on Bored Young Professionals- this is just the beginning:

As we close in on the final week of the most aggressive grassroots campaign this district has ever seen, we are ready to kick it up a notch. Volunteers will be phone banking and door knocking every night this week gearing up for the final 100 hour get out the vote effort. The "100 Hours to Victory" GOTV plan will be a supercharged continuation of the huge grassroots effort that the campaign has run so far. The plan is to use the last 100 hours of the primary campaign to get out the vote for Greg and send him into the general election with the momentum he will need to take out Jay O?Brien.

"The '100 Hours to Victory' GOTV effort can be a critical step toward turning the 39th district blue, but we need help. Galligan volunteers are pledging their time during the last 100 hours to phone bank and canvass the district. With your help we will fill the last hours of the campaign with a flurry of activity that will ensure a resounding victory for Greg Galligan. Please contact volunteers@greggalligan.com or call 703-960-6002 to pledge your time for our final grassroots GOTV effort."

100 Hours to Victory. How many can you give?

25 (brimur - 6/4/2007 2:12:45 PM)
I will start off by saying that I personally will give 25 hours to help take back the State Senate. A little Friday and Monday evenings, a few hours on Saturday and Sunday, and all day Tuesday. But if you can't do that much, every little bit still helps.

Tough to give a solid number... (Ghost of A.L. Philpott - 6/4/2007 2:14:30 PM)
...but I do know this:

I'll be phone banking at least 2 nights this week. Additionally, I'm taking a day off the family vacation to drive back and work Monday night and allll day Tuesday.

20 for me (Draft Me Please - 6/4/2007 2:16:27 PM)
Did a lot of work this weekend, and I'll be there 3 nights this week. Friday Evening, all day Saturday and Sunday and then Monday night will be spent for Greg.

So I'm guessing? (JEM82 - 6/5/2007 9:30:13 AM)
So I'm guessing that the 3 of you are either:

A. the same person
B. work for Greg Galligan
C. just generically copy off of each other's papers

?

I wish (Draft Me Please - 6/5/2007 9:49:45 AM)
that we could support our candidate without being accused of dishonest practices. If you had been around this community for more than a month you would see that all three of us are very distinct people with distinct writing styles and personalities. We all support Greg Galligan and we are working hard on his behalf, and none of us are employed by the campaign.

It might help (Glant - 6/6/2007 9:45:11 PM)
If some of you didn't repeatedly mischarecterize George Barker's campaign and smear him with misinformation.  The piece sent out by the Barker campaign did not, as Brimur has said here and on other blogs, insult Greg.  It simply showed the differences in qualifications between the two candidates.  It was not nasty or negative.

I appreciate your attempt at defense. (brimur - 6/6/2007 10:06:56 PM)
But it's just hard to defend someone who tries to mislead the voters in uncanny imitation of Jerry Kilgore. This is the kind of black mark that's hard to take away. Really sad that Barker felt he had to take this route.

Then why didn't Barker clearly label it as part of his campaign? (DanG - 6/7/2007 1:38:12 PM)
It Barker has nothing to hide, and isn't being negative against Galligan, why did he feel he had to hide the fact his campaign produced the material?

It's dirty, and you know it.  You should never send out any lit or produce any commercial unless you are willing to put your name on it in big, bold letters.
