[UPDATE: Apparently, Charlie does head something called the "Providence District Council," but the Policy Soup story still makes zero sense.]
Ha, so they've already conceded the election to Charlie over incumbent Supervisor Linda Smyth? As Borat says, "is nice!" :)
Second, they claim that Charlie "no longer has a website up and running." They add, "The home page says "Under Construction" and proceed to inquire, "What does Charlie have to hide?" Uh, hello? Charlie Hall's website appears to be working great. Also, Charlie was at a PUBLIC "debate" last night, you know the one that Linda said she didn't have time to attend? Finally, why is the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce so "concerned for the soul of the democratic party," as a commenter writes? Or, "is it PO'd at the community standing up to over-development?"
Where's Waldo? How about, where can I get some of what the people at the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce are smoking?
I've officially seen everything.
For example, the policy soup guys say
...misunderstood the statement "Same question asked of each candidate in order specified"...
The actual quote about the order
"[t]he order for answering questions will alternate between the two candidates,"
Linda's supporters - in this case the Tysons-rail-at-any-cost Chamber of Commerce - are playing George Allen politics at it's worst. What's next, a ham sandwich joke?
Who do you want in office, Linda Smyth, who is a tool of the development/business community who hides her political history as a Republican or the honest, straight-talking Charlie Hall, who's backing comes from grassroots citizens?
