Fun Times in Woodbridge Tomorrow!

This should be great:

Faisal Gill and Julie Lucas developed reputations as loyal Woodbridge Republicans working long hours to help candidates win election in competitive Prince William County.

Saturday, the 34-year-olds will duel at the party's nomination convention to replace 10-year Republican Delegate Michele McQuigg.

Gill, a former Department of Homeland Security official, is fighting criticism from Lucas, a Prince William County School Board member, that he worked for an American Muslim organization founded by a man later convicted of financing terrorism.

Ah, two right wingnuts fighting it out, what could be more enjoyable?  Kind of reminds me of the years I played floor hockey in Woodbridge, where just about every Sunday night someone would call the cops because a fight had broken out (hey, it's hockey after all...almost as rough as politics).  Fun times!

I know wingnuts and these two aren't wingnuts just saying.  Its going to be very close tomorrow.  I'll agree on the entertaining part :-p

Faisal Gill's not a wingnut? (Lowell - 6/1/2007 7:39:00 AM)
So do you think Attila the Hun was a moderate?

You said two :-p (novamiddleman - 6/1/2007 7:54:27 AM)

Not sure about Julie Lucas. (Lowell - 6/1/2007 8:00:28 AM)
She's been endorsed by supposed "moderate" Jeannemarie Devolites Davis.  On the other hand, she's been endorsed by "as-extreme-right-as-humanly-possible" Jeff Frederick.  So I don't know what her deal is politically.  Anyone else have any thoughts?

Judge for yourself (novamiddleman - 6/1/2007 8:55:23 AM)
Here is Julies issues page.  This is the kind of common-sense Republican positions I subscribe to.

Who do you think is favored? (Lowell - 6/1/2007 9:07:59 AM)
Seems like Julie really is much more moderate and sensible than Faisal Gill. Of course, that's not necessarily saying much.

Gill will win (novamiddleman - 6/1/2007 3:47:16 PM)
The margin is too great to overcome

Virginia Virtucon BVBL NLS Novatown Hall all have the info

Meanwhile, Sharon Pandak is running (Lowell - 6/1/2007 8:03:42 AM)
"for the at-large seat on the Prince William Board of County Supervisors."  According to the Potomac News:

Pandak, a Democrat, lost to Corey A. Stewart, R-at large, in a special election in 2006 when Stewart held the Occoquan Magisterial District seat.

The special election was held to replace former Prince William Chairman Sean T. Connaughton, who left the position to take a presidential appointment at the U.S. Maritime Administration.

Pandak lost by 5,796 votes in that election where 84,146 people voted.

The paper adds, "Pandak said she decided to run again because she was dismayed at the way the fiscal 2008 budget process was handled."

Should be interesting.

I wonder (Draft Me Please - 6/1/2007 9:34:11 AM)
where she is planning to vacation during this campaign? I hear Guam is nice this time of year.
