George Allen vs. Mark Warner in 2007?

With the announcement of George Allen's new "Good Government Action Fund" PAC, combined with word that Mark Warner is promising "a "potentially unprecedented" effort to elect Democrats," could 2007 be shaping up into a George Allen vs. Mark Warner contest of fundraising and political prowess?
Add in Gov. Kaine on the Democrats' side, and...I dunno, Dick Cheney (ha), Jim Gilmore (ha ha) or Ed Gillespie (ha ha ha) on the Republican side, and this could really be a barn burner!
Personally, my money's on Mark Warner (and Tim Kaine) every time, but "Felix" can be formidable as well, when he's not utter racial slurs or wishing he had been born in Iowa or being "bored" in the Senate or accusing a reporter of casting "aspersion" on him by referring to his Jewish heritage or whatever. Hey George, maybe with all the money you raise you can go buy yourself a ham sandwich? Heh.

Hope to hear more about this: But the link for Warner doesn't work. A Warner/Allen competition would bury the malfeasance once and for all. I worked in the Virginia bureaucracy during Allen's tenure. It was crooked and corrupt to the core. Did you all know that the museum system of Virginia was so lost and confused during Allen's tenure that THEY LOST THE PREHISTORIC SLOTH BONES DISCOVERED BY THOMAS JEFFERSON!!!
I just checked. (Lowell - 6/1/2007 7:50:39 AM)
The Warner link seems to be working fine.
Holy Smokes! (Matusleo - 6/1/2007 8:10:30 AM)
I didn't know tht about the Sloth Bones, but wow, that doesn't really surprise me. THe GOP conservative movement has always been about putting their cronies in power.
Think of it, they cannot rely on people experienced in these matters because experience teaches people that conservative governance doesn't work!!! So anybody with actual experience will be at least a moderate, and the conservative movement thinks they are the snake in the grass that will bite them and ruin their grand plan to remake America like it used to be.
We didn't notice the idiocy under the Allen administration as much because we'd just had twelve years of Democratic governors who were competent and appointed and hired competent people.

Criminal idiocy. (Bernie Quigley - 6/1/2007 8:32:40 AM)
When someone would get fired from the Reagan administration for being too right wing they had a life-long ticket to work in the Allen admin. We were not allowed to use words like "environmentalism" as the concept was not acknowledged. My tenure was very short.
OK. Got it. Thanks. (Bernie Quigley - 6/1/2007 7:51:46 AM)
George Allen for Gary Baise (Lowell - 6/1/2007 9:03:45 AM)
This is hilarious, George Allen for Gary Baise the self-proclaimed "community leader" who's "[a] leader, not a finger-pointer." What next, "MY FRIENDS, we're going to run this campaign on positive, constructive ideas?" Wait, that was George Allen's line, right before he launched into his Macaca tirade. Ha.
Also before... (uva08 - 6/1/2007 9:54:10 AM)
his campaign went out searching for people to make up stories about Webb to "even the field"(the alleged incident in California), he started the Webb Against Women stuff, and before he started the ridiculous book controversy. Is there a new definition for "positive constructive ideas" that I don't know about?
Good Government Action Fund? (Andrea Chamblee - 6/1/2007 11:33:55 AM)
There are dozens of "good government" PACs, including 10 in VA. There's a
"Good Government for America" PAC and
"The Good Government for America" PAC, both with money in and out from George Allen. (I always wondered why a candidate would have money going both ways, other then to hide contributions.)
Anyway, FEC does not yet have a "Good Government Action" PAC listed. Neither does VPAP.org. It's worth keeping an eye on it, though.
