This is great news regarding one of RK's endorsed candidates, Henry Light:
When former Virginia Gov. Mark R. Warner tried to push through a 2002 referendum to raise sales taxes to fund Hampton Roads transportation improvements, fellow Democrat Johnny S. Joannou was flat against the legislation."He not only opposed it, but he fought it tooth and nail," Warner told a crowd of 200 people Saturday morning at a Portsmouth fundraiser for Joannou's opponent in the June 12 Democratic primary, Henry Light.
Warner used the breakfast fundraiser at the Renaissance Hotel to announce his support for Light, a retired Norfolk Southern Corp. attorney and first-time candidate for office.
In addition to Mark Warner, Light is also backed by Norfolk Mayor Paul Fraim. Not bad for a challenger, but maybe it's because of things like this and this. Go Light!
