Elections matter. And no one knows that better than the folks at DC for Democracy. Their passion, their commitment to progress, and their willingness to do the hard work it takes to get out the vote make the difference between winning and losing -- and our capacity to move forward as a nation. I am so grateful for their support in the '06 congressional race in VA-10. They make me proud to be a candidate!
--Judy Feder

Judy Feder, the Democratic challenger to Frank Wolf (VA-10) in 2006, will be at the DC for Democracy picnic in Rock Creek Park this Saturday, May 19 (11am to 3pm). Jim Dean, chair of Democracy for America (and Howard Dean's brother) will be there as well. Please join us if you're in the DC area.
Catch up with old friends, make new ones, and meet special guests. More important, help DC for Democracy raise the funds that make our efforts possible, including presidential primary activities, voting rights, and community projects.

Past accomplishments include
* Canvassing for Judy Feder in VA-10 -- she didn't win, but we did our bit to make sure Jim Webb did well in that district
* Organizing the nearest anti-escalation protest to the White House the week the "surge" was announced
* Coordinating messages from DFA groups across the country to lobby members of Congress about creating a full House seat for DC (giving DC residents the same rights as other American taxpayers)

Come enjoy camaraderie, games, and the park itself. We'll provide the picnic basics, but feel free to bring your favorite chips, salads, or beverages to share.

Suggested donation $35 for an individual, $50 for a family.

Success! (KCinDC - 5/21/2007 10:22:20 AM)
The weather was beautiful, and the picnic was a great success. Photos are here, including some of Judy Feder and Jim Dean.

Feder didn't make an official announcement, but she's definitely planning for another run at Frank Wolf.
