Sen. Webb for Dems Iraq Point Man

Everyone, check this idea out at Daily Kos. "kid oakland" has suggested that the Democratic leaders in both houses appoint our Senator, Jim Webb, as the Democrat's point man to deal with the President on the Iraq Funding Bill.

What a terrific idea!!  Everyone's going nuts about it, and almost everyone thinks it would be an excellent idea.

This is a great idea. As former Senate staff, I'd say first the other Senators and MoC would have to swallow their pride a bit, but it would absolutely put Bush in his place (where ever that is? I can only think of that big pile behind his barn in Crawford?)

Personally,I'd favour a well-padded cell at Gitmo. And just so  that he's not isolated (cruel and unusual),we could give him Cheney for company.

But the idea of having Webb shoot down Bu..$h..'s BS, on a regular basis, is most appealing. Though, given Webb's way with language and given Bu..$h..'s ineptitude, it sounds almost like shooting fish in a barrel :)

He has great credibility - a Marine son deployed in Iraq, a middle daughter who's longtime boyfriend served as a Marine in Afghanistan, and now his youngest daughter's husband, who is also a Marine, is deployed in Iraq.
