Mark Warner: Tim Kaine is the Man for the Job

Tuesday, September 20, 2005:  Mark Warner spoke in Arlington at the 35th ?Happy Hour with a Purpose,? sponsored by the Black Caucus and other groups.  Before a crowd of nearly 200, Mark Warner outlined his Administration's accomplishments over the past 4 years, and asked us to support Tim Kaine so he can continue that great leadership for the next 4 years.

Governor Warner celebrated his Administration's accomplishments over the past 4 years, including Virginia being named the best-managed state in the nation, balancing the budget, creating a surplus, and raising test scores.  Warner talked about how Virginia has become more diverse, and how the Warner Administration itself has been the most diverse of any in Virginia history.

And, he added:  ?In that time, one candidate [Tim Kaine] has been with us and the other [Jerry Kilgore] has been against us.?

In Mark Warner?s view, Tim Kaine is clearly the man for the job.  For the past 4 years, Tim Kaine has been by Warner's side, working with him in Richmond to balance the budget and to increase funding for education.

In addition, Governor Warner and other speakers also talked about the importance of coming together to help the victims of Katrina.  Together, there was a bipartisan message that everyone was welcome, as long as we take care of each other.

One definite theme for the evening was that to continue the success of the Warner Administration, there is one choice, and one choice only this November 8:  Tim Kaine.  Any other choice jeopardizes the future of Virginia. Mark Warner only has 4 months left, and when he is gone, we will be fortunate to have a man who is totally capable of taking his place. Unfortunately, we are less fortunate to have a Republican candidate in the form of Jerry Kilgore, who is capable of destroying everything Mark Warner and Tim Kaine have accomplished.  That's why Mark Warner's message is to choose Tim Kaine in November, so that every Virginian -- black, white, Democrat, Republican -- will be better off in the end.

Hope Mark will speak (KathyinBlacksburg - 4/4/2006 11:28:11 PM)
Hope Mark will speak loud and often about who really will carry on his legacy.  Many of us have no doubt that's Tim's the One.  But, for those who've been misled and spun, Mark can't speak too often between now and Nov. The two pretenders to the Mark Warner legacy won't stop saying what they're saying, but voters should have not doubt by election day.
