What is Ken Cuccinelli Thinking?

After reading the latest "Cuccinelli Compass", I am, well, floored.  It's not as though almost every issue that he sends out makes a whole lot of sense in the first place, but this one really takes the cake.  He begins his email:

How To Start Each Day With A Positive Outlook:

1. Open a new file in your computer.
2. Name it "Hillary Rodham Clinton"
3. Send it to the trash.
4. Empty the trash.
5. Your PC will ask you, "Do you really want to get rid of Hillary Rodham Clinton?"
6. (Firmly) Click "Yes."
7. Feel better.

P.S. Next week we'll do Nancy Pelosi.

And then, just when you wonder what exactly he is trying to say to his "Fellow Republicans", he goes on to trash the Queen of England.  I wish I could tell you that this is a joke, and that a Virginia State Senator didn't actually send this out.  Unfortunately I cannot, because this email really did come directly from Ken's campaign today.
The people of the 37th District, Northern Virginia, and the Commonwealth clearly deserve much better than this.  While Ken was down in Richmond voting against every transportation bill that came across his desk for the last six years (except one ill conceived Republican plan) we were all sitting in the same traffic.  And when Governor Kaine came back with an amended bill that would finally provide Northern Virginia with at least some relief, Ken went back to his old ways and voted against the final bill.  Well, now we know why: he is far too busy "trashing" women in power, like Hillary Clinton (NY) and the first female Speaker of the House in our nation's history, Nancy Pelosi (CA).  Oh, and don't forget the other woman he bashes, a figurehead from the United Kingdom.  Obviously Ken just doesn't have the time to focus on the problems we face here in the 37th.

Finally, I would like to note that half of Ken's email is about fundraising, and he specifically points out that we raised $137,000 in the first quarter.  I sincerely want to thank the RK Community for helping to make the first quarter a very successful one.  More than the amount of money raised, I am incredibly proud of the number of donors that have given to this campaign: more than 525!  As I said in my press release, this really shows how much of a grassroots effort this campaign will be and I'm proud to have the support of the RK Community.

Again, thanks so much for all your support, and keep a look out for our brand new website launching soon!!

I don't know (DanG - 5/1/2007 2:23:05 PM)
That's actually pretty funny.

From Small Minds (Glant - 5/1/2007 2:30:52 PM)
come small ideas.  Since Ken can't think of anything new, he just recycles old jokes.

I wonder if he recycles anything else.

Go Janet!

Female Republicans, take note! (Andrea Chamblee - 5/1/2007 2:42:06 PM)
He seems to have a problem with strong, opinionated, penis-free people.

That's a perfect straight line for this evolutionary biology article (PM - 5/1/2007 4:35:46 PM)
http://news.yahoo.co...

This is actually a serious article on a serious subject, but it appears that female mallards have developed a defense against males:

So Brennan's team looked at a lot of duck bottoms.  What they found surprised them -- corkscrew-shaped oviducts, with plenty of potential dead-ends.

"Interestingly, the male phallus is also a spiral, but it twists in the opposite, counterclockwise, direction," said Yale ornithologist Richard Prum in a statement.

"So, the twists in the oviduct appear designed to exclude the opposing twists of the male phallus. It's an exquisite anti-lock-and-key system."

Brennan believes females evolved convoluted oviducts to foil the male rapists.

"You can envision an evolutionary scenario that, as the male phallus increases in size, the female creates more barriers. You get this evolutionary arms race," Brennan said.

Only if the female is relaxed and cooperative can the male's sperm get anywhere near the unfertilized eggs, the researchers suggest.

Cuccinelli is part of the human species that isn't adapting very well (or happily) to change.

I might suggest that real men like intellectually and spiritually strong women.

It took a female biologist (PM - 5/1/2007 4:56:11 PM)
to figure this mallard biology question out, according to male evolutionary biologist PZ Myers:

. . . but this is another fascinating revelation: it took a woman scientist to suggest that maybe, just maybe, they also ought to look at what's going on in the female ducks, and then the whole wonderful story of coevolution of these structures emerged. It's actually a rather embarrassing instance of a scientific blind spot, where the biases of the investigators led them to overlook an important component of the story.

Ken C. has some sort of blinders on, that's for sure.

jokes been around (blueweeds - 5/1/2007 3:47:48 PM)
variations of that joke have been around for some time ... shows his instinct is for knee jerk republican polarization politics.
