The British coverage of the Queen's visit to the colonies America this week (Virginia on Thursday) is rather amusing, in a dry British sort of way.  For instance, The Guardian, makes mild fun of Americans for their excitement at the Queen's visit:

The state is holding a lottery to give more than 100 "commoners" front row places for a royal walkabout, the Washington Post reported.

Officials will ask winners to dress appropriately "with no 'I'm With Stupid' T-shirts etc".

"Rumours of a royal visit, however, have been making state giddy for months," the Post proclaimed.

Governor of Virginia Tim Kaine remarked the visit would be a "very powerful day".

According to the Washington Post, if you're a commoner interested in seeing the Queen, "online registration closes Monday; winners will be announced that day... Registration is at http://queensvisit.g...  Good luck, and God Save the Queen!
