Wow. According to the National Journal's Hotline:

We're told that [Democratic consultant Joe] Trippi will be a senior adviser and a member of the [Edwards for President] media team. We suspect he'll play a large role in developing Edwards's internet strategy.

This is potentially big news, especially considering that Trippi has been a netroots pioneer:

The Dean campaign, and Trippi specifically, became widely acclaimed for the innovative use of the Internet, especially for fundraising. In particular, Trippi was largely responsible for the creation of an official campaign blog, and the use of Meetup and other social networking technologies to connect supporters. Both techniques are widely utilized today by other social and political campaigns.

Stay tuned, this should be interesting!

P.S.  Trippi recently predicted a brokered convention.  I wonder if he still thinks that will be the case...

I agree on the brokered convention (humanfont - 4/19/2007 4:51:39 PM)
The primary schedule is too tight; each candidate will build firewalls to handle any NH or Iowa problem.  The only way to avoid this will be for a candidate to become the majority pick of Democrats before the primary season begins.  The only way this doesn't happen are:
-Edwards, Obama or Hillary drop outs or collapses, and no other candidate breaks through. This makes it a two way race.
-One of the candidates has some kind of breakout into the high 40s before Iowa/NV/NH.  Then they also have to get through these states without an upset.

its way way way too early (novamiddleman - 4/19/2007 5:04:24 PM)
but this is what political junkies do :-p

Edwards will propably win Iowa and Nevada if he can win New Hampshire he will develop the big MO

At the same time Hillary will lose steam

The question is will Edwards have enough time to capatilize and raise cash in the compressed schedule to compete with Hillary and Obama during the first week of February

I still say the only way Hillary goes down is if Edwards or Obama drops out.
