Almost immediately, Henry Light responded with a "live blog" appearance on RK. In contrast, we didn't hear a peep from Johnny Joannou. Finally, we tried e-mailing him at his official government e-mail address (DelJJoannou@house.state.va.us), but it kept bouncing with messages like "failure notice" and "I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses."
We concluded that Joannou simply didn't have an e-mail account, despite the fact that he's listed as having an official one (DelJJoannou@house.state.va.us). We also ended up strongly endorsing Henry Light.
Now, it turns out (according to VPAP) that Joannou pays Joannou Knowles and Associates - Joannou's law firm - for "internet access" (see screen capture above). That's odd; why would Joannou pay for internet access if he doesn't use the internet? Can someone explain? In the meantime, the Johnny Joannou e-mail mystery deepens...
But not using e-mail (and, yes, as a delegate he could use the same state-provided system every other delegate and senator uses, and wouldn't have to set up his own system)has nothing to do with internet access to the Web -- hell, maybe he's trying to learn what's going on in the world and in his district to offset his obvious ignorance.
But Joannou wouldn't know the difference between an Atari and a laptop.
