April 13, 2007The Honorable Benjamin J. Lambert
3109 Noble Avenue
Richmond, Virginia 2322-2527Dear Senator Lambert:
I was very dismayed and disappointed to read your remarks in yesterday's Richmond Free Press. According to that article dated Thursday, April 12, 2007, you are only willing, if at all, to consider debating in front of nonpartisan groups. As I said in my original letter to you, I am eager to discuss the issues and debate in front of a variety of organizations. However, I believe it is imperative that we meet before Democratic groups also. This contest is for the Democratic nomination and Democrats will and should be voting for their standard-bearer. Republicans and their supporters have their own opportunity to choose their nominee.
I sincerely hope you will reconsider so we can put together a series of debates, both in front of nonpartisan organizations and in front of Democrats because it is their primary. I certainly hope your unwillingness to appear among Democrats is not because your goal is to court Republicans and encourage them to hijack the Democratic nominating process.
We have two months to go, plenty of time to have a series of debates in front of a variety of groups. Please let's not deprive out voters of an opportunity to hear our views and our values.
Sincerely,
A. Donald McEachin
Yeah, we're all "dismayed and disappointed" with Benedict Lambert as well. Will the Democratic committees PLEASE kick this guy out of the party already? Benedict is obviously not a Democrat in good standing, by the rules that he himself agreed to. Of course, he'll be gone soon regardless, as Donald McEachin crushes him in the Democratic Party in about 60 days. I can't wait.
P.S. You can tell Benny Lambert it's the DEMOCRATIC Primary, not the unaffiliated primary, right here.
