Secondly, one project that RaisingKaine PAC has been working on recently is county party building. There is, for instance, one rural county that gave over 60% of its vote to Mark Warner. So, that county has a strong Democratic party, plenty of money, detailed voter rolls, etc., right? Wrong. Their county party is a couple people who pass out lit. at the polls. That's it. We've seen this all over the state, overlooked counties who could be fantastic at bringing out Democratic votes. Some are more Democratic than others, but one thing is the same: They have no resources. Raising Kaine has been working to rebuild local parties over the past few weeks, supplying them with short term needs (e.g. literature about the T-L-C ticket), and longer term needs (e.g. voter lists and donor lists). We've been working hard, but we've hit a wall. By 5:00PM TODAY, we need to come up with another $350.
I HATE asking for money, and I wouldn't do it if I didn't have to. But the need for this cash is very real, and we need it to send a major print job to the shop NOW. All we need is ten people each willing to invest $35 in rebuilding our county parties from the ground up. If you can only afford a smaller donation, that's fine. Even $10 makes a difference, and if you can afford to give more than $35, please do so. Please look at the top right of this page and click the "Click and Pledge" logo to donate now. Every donor gets a free set of Tim Kaine, Leslie Byrne, and Creigh Deeds bumper stickers.
Thanks,
Sam (sam@raisingkaine.com)
PS: Just to make it clear: We are NOT the Tim Kaine campaign, but we do urgently need money by 5:00 PM today. Please make it happen, folks. Tim Kaine is within the margin of error in the most recent poll. Kaine has the momentum, and projects like this could have a profound impact on this race, and in other races for years. Please give what you can. Thank you.
(But don't stop there! We can use every dollar.)
We are now up to 4. (Thanks Josh!)
Come on, who here spent $2 on coffee today or $50 at the gas pump? Chip in a few bucks.
Since this post went up, we have received three donations. The two mentioned above and one more.
People like you all are the reasons Tim is going to win in November.
