But did you know that Robertson, who recently suggested assassinating the President of Venezuela, had contributed $36,000 to "Taliban Bob" McDonnell's campaign for Attorney General as of June 30? Did you know that this represents McDonnell's second largest individual contribution? And did you know that, in addtion, Robertson -- who believes Muslims are "worse than the Nazis" -- had given $5,000 to McDonnell's PAC, the Virginia Conservative Action PAC?
As if that's not bad enough, McDonnell graduated from Robertson's Regent Law School prior to the school receiving accreditation from the American Bar Association and is now a partner in Robertson's law firm, Huff, Poole & Mahoney. Robertson even mentioned McDonnell as an example of the type of leader Regent was founded to produce. ..."It's a beginning for us," Robertson said. (Richmond Times-Dispatch, 5/31/1993)
Want more? Well, McDonnell serves on the Regent University Law School Board of Visitors. Maureen McDonnell, his wife, serves as Regent University's Director of Development and Communications. We could go on and on, but we'll spare you, dear readers. Suffice it to say that Kilgore and McDonnell are totally beholden to the extreme religious right wing, as epitomized by Pat Robertson and his buddy Jerry Falwell, and could be expected to do those peoples' bidding if -- God forbid -- they are elected this November. Let's make sure that Kilgore and "Taliban Bob" (let alone Bill "Enron of the Insurance Industry" Bolling) never get anywhere near any position of power in our state. Go TLC!
