Rep. Tom Davis will be hosting four town meetings to hear from his 11th District constituents this Saturday.  Good - that's his job.  Our job is to go to these meetings and tell him (in civil but no uncertain terms) exactly how we feel about Republican mismanagement of Iraq, climate change, the economy, veteran's affairs, and much, much more.

Please attend one of these meetings if you can (below the flip):
9:00-10:00 am
Vienna Town Hall
127 Center Street South
Vienna, VA 22180

11:00am-12:00pm

Davis felt wounded soldier abuse less important than steroid abuse (lortonalan - 3/30/2007 12:08:12 AM)
I went to Davis' Lorton Townhall.  As I was getting into my car, I overheard some people talking about flyers on windshields of all the cars in the parking lot.  Sure enough, there was one on my car too.  The flyer said the Republican website for the House oversight committee says Tom Davis' Walter Reed "efforts pre-dated by years the stories in the Washington Post."

The flyer said that 'years' means two or more years and so Davis knew of the Walter Reed problems in March 2005 and yet he did not subpeona the Army bigwigs and demand answers from them.  Also in March 2005, he  knew that there might be millionaire athletes abusing steroids.  That was important enough to hold hearings about, but our wounded soldiers were not important enough to rate a hearing.

Davis called for Walter Reed hearings later, right?  WRONG.  In May 2005 he held more steroid hearings.  So, millionaire athletes are important enough to Tom Davis to warrant multiple hearings, while wounded soldiers couldn't get a single hearing from Tom Davis.

Here is the Congressional Quarterly article. He admits it!

So much for moderation (TheGreenMiles - 3/30/2007 7:19:08 AM)
I can't believe a Republican up for reeelection (and considering a Senate bid!) in a purple state would stand next to President Bush and demand that the War in Iraq go on for as long as President Bush wants, no matter what the American people say.  Tom Davis is either incredibly bold or an authentic wacko.

Davis counts on his corporate donors noticing (Andrea Chamblee - 3/30/2007 2:33:49 PM)
and no one else.
