Pollard & Del Toro in Fredericksburg Apr. 7

On the first Saturday of every month, Democrats from Fredericksburg and its surrounding areas gather at 9AM to meet and organize at Tickers, a coffee shop located at 2037 Plank Rd. According to Stafford County Dem. Committee Chair Dan Smolen, both Carlos Del Toro AND Albert Pollard will be joining us as well next weekend. For Pollard, this will be his first local appearence as a Democratic candidate for the 28th Senate district currently held by the retiring John Chichester. Commander Del Toro of course is aiming to unseat GOP Del. Mark Cole in the House's 88th district.

Not only is fmr. Del. Pollard's campaign another major step in turning the Senate blue, but he's our best hope at keeping the 28th out of the hands of those on the right who were incensed by Chichester's tendency to actually work with Democrats from time to time. As for Mark Cole, his big claim to fame is his bizarre crusade to try and tranform a part of Thomas Jefferson's magnificant legacy, the Virginia General Assembly, into a unicameral body. So since Cole doesn't feel we even need a GA in its current form, let's do him a favor and show him his walking papers....Del Toro style.

Cole wants to do away with ... the Virginia Senate! (oncerednowblue - 3/28/2007 10:30:36 AM)
Chris, I needed to correct something in your post; Unicameral Mark Cole wants to do away with the Virginia Senate (not the House of Delegates).  To him, the Virginia Senate is a quaint body that gets in the way of enacting the screwball ideas he has for governing the Commonwealth of Virginia.

That's reason enough to vote for Albert Pollard for the Virginia Senate (28th District) and Carlos Del Toro for the Virginia House of Delegates (88th District).

As Chris deftly points out:  Unlike Mark Cole, who seems hell-bent on destroying TJ's masterwork (aka the Virginia General Assembly), Albert Pollard and Carlos Del Toro are highly principled people that will - with great character and conviction - represent the people of their districts and the Commonwealth.

I mean the House as it currently exists, but what you said makes more sense. :)
