The NC Democratic Party Chair, Jerry Meek, has just announced in their weekly newsletter a new staff position at their HQ in Raleigh: Jerimee Richir is breaking new ground as the Party's online communications director. The North Carolina Democratic Party is the first state Party in the country to have such a position. Among his responsibilities are developing and maintaining online strategies to win elections and representing the Party's presence in the blogosphere.http://by139fd.bay13...
What's unique about this was the way the Party "advertised" and "interviewed" right on the web! This was from Jerry Meek on the NCDP blog (BlueNC) on February 6, 2007:

. . . this could develop a matrix of the right place at the right time, accentuating the northern states in the South as the ascending paradigm in strategies as well as politics. My case has been all year (from New Hampshire perspective) that Jim Webb opens a new paradigm for the Democrats (the "Mudcat Paradigm"), one which will "awaken" others, first in the South and then throughout the country; "a Democratic Party with Southern Characteristics" - that is, a Democratic party with the potential to win in red states. In fact, I see Mark Warner forming the template for this; - a Yank-reared politician who experiences Southern people as his equals, shows no class distinction in his attitudes; has a joyful and natural smile & enjoys family and life; and is a terrifc manager, with emphasis on the last. That is the hallmark of the greatest of politicians from FDR to Fiorello LaGuardia. As Jim Webb says above, northern Virginia today is the representative forum for much of the country. NC equaly expresses the paradigm and has since Jim Hunt.
Agree, Bernie (Dianne - 3/23/2007 7:47:30 PM)
NC Dems are really enthused and are seeing real changes in the NC Democratic Party. My folks live in a retirement community and there's even a Democratic Club there!!! Must be something in the water.
Thanks for your comment.
