Senior Feder Advisor: Judy Seriously Considering Another Run Against Wolf

According to a senior advisor to Judy Feder, another race for Congress against Rep. Frank Wolf appears likely for 2008.  Currently, Feder is consulting with advisors and supporters, and is receiving "strong encouragement from community activists" to run again.  Feder hopes to make a definite decision soon.  In 2006, Feder lost to Wolf 57%-41% in her first run for Congress.  This time around, it is almost certain that she will start earlier and raise more money than the last time around.  One of the great things about Feder, aside from her qualifications for the office, is that she loves being a candidate.  That should serve her well if/when she announces for the 10th District Congressional seat again.

About a month ago I spoke to a former Feder campaign staffer who said, in her personal opinion, there was like a 90% chance Judy was going to run again.

Sounds about right... (Lowell - 3/21/2007 5:29:04 PM)
...from what I'm hearing.

in all honesty (littlepunk - 3/21/2007 6:14:11 PM)
why would anybody think feder would do better this time around?  she lost by SIXTEEN in an enormously democratic year, with a buffoon at the top of the republican ticket thus spurring additional democratic turnout?

she raised a ton of money, was on tv with several ads, and still got slaughtered.  she had everything going for her.  i don't think lack of resources was the issue.

wolf must be thrilled if she runs again.

Though I hate to say it (DanG - 3/21/2007 9:27:02 PM)
I have to agree.  It was a Democratic Year, she had tons of cash, and she still got served.  I mean, she'd be a better candidate than having nobody, but I don't know.  Webb only barely won the tenth.  Maybe it's not ready to go true-blue yet.

Not that it means anything... I think... (elevandoski - 3/21/2007 10:46:13 PM)
But guess who I saw at our big JJ Dinner last month?  James Socas!  He still lives in McLean, never moved to California (moved to a California-based company which somehow didn't involve a move), and is still so good-looking!

Yeah, but... (Bwana - 3/22/2007 9:24:50 AM)
My bet is that Socas wants to be the mover and shaker behind Mark Warner.

Socas' boorish behavior on election night 2004 won't be soon forgotten by the party faithful, nor will the fact that his campaign not only violated the FEC's
"millionaire's law" but also had to pay almost 70K in fines for missing deadlines, non-reports, etc.

With a record like that, my guess is that GOP is hoping he runs again...
