A Benny Lambert/Harris Miller Alliance?

NLS has reported that Benny Lambert has started to look for support among former Harris Miller supporters now that his floundering political career is on life-support. Speculation will undoubtedly run rampant as to what level Harris Miller himself has in all of this, fair or not.

Here's Ben:

Remember, it was Miller's campaign that first raised the questions about Jim Webb and race that Benny endorsed and then used as justification to support George Allen last November.

It will be important to watch Benny's next financial report that comes out April 15th and see exactly who is on there.

any proof? (noonan - 3/20/2007 1:15:30 PM)
Where's the proof of this?  NLS doesn't mention any, and this is coming from the same guy who (1) didn't report the 51-5 Galligan/Barker results, and (2) took Raising Kaine of off his blog roll for the 48 hours that Dave Marsden was liveblogging.  We know his sources (Larry and Leslie) hate Harris Miller.  He's not exactly an objective reporter.

We're all pretty quick to blame Miller because he did some pretty lousy stuff during the primary, but let's not forget how quickly he lined up his supporters behind Jim Webb.  I say give the guy I break.  If Miller is behind this, then shame on him, but if he's not, we should feel pretty stupid for letting NLS's subjective approach cast doubt on him.

This primary is about the 9th Senate (Alice Marshall - 3/20/2007 2:21:51 PM)
If McEachin runs this as the man who stood by the Democratic party in the general election and who has a good voting record  in the H of D he will win in a landslide. Benny's only chance is to rerun the 2006 primary. Most of the voters in that district supported Miller in the primary, you can't win their votes by insulting them.

There is talk of Leslie running for Congress in 2008 or even running for Gov in 2009. Right now her chief claim to fame is supporting Webb in the primary and playing an important role in his victory. Ben Tribbett is going to spin that for everything it is worth. But it has nothing to do with voters in the 9th Senate district.
