Time is ticking down for the Governor to submit his changes to the monstrous transportation bill. With that in mind, we will soon be submitting our petition to the Governor. If you haven't already, please sign the petition, and pass it along to your friends and family.A few highlights from the comments section of the petition:
* I see this whole thing as a trap not a bill to do anything about the transportation situation.
* Governor Kaine, I will support whatever you do to stop this horrible transportation bill. I will pay my fair share to get the congested traffic in Northern Virginia cleared up.
* Please do not raid the General fund to remove the funds needed by our first responders, children, educators and health providers.
* This Bill is INSANE! I have heard Republican Senators and Delegates who hate it. Listen to the people GAS TAX!
* It is irresponsible to borrow against the general fund for ongoing expenses such as transportation.
* I remain concerned that a law which will use General Fund money normally supporting health, security, and education to replace a general transportation tax increase.
* This bill is financial irresponsibility in action. Our state shouldn't be afraid in raising money to investing in our road infrastructure.
