Elections Have Consequences.
Every time an official is elected to office there are consequences.
Those consequences directly result from ideology.
Over the last 30 years, nationwide, we have elected a storm of wrong minded officials at the local, state, and national levels. These frail and callow private servants believe that wealth is virtue, that what is right for business is right for America, that those who live in poverty deserve to live in poverty, and that government's responsibilities do not extend past creating subsidies for the largest corporate entities.
By making this nation only serve the wealthy and massive capital interests, we have made our nation an ugly shade of the gift of America.
The fault here doesn't just belong with Mr. Bush's weak handling and failed management. George Bush wouldn't exist without the backstabbing "no-taxes" caball. He was created as an idol for them to worship.
NEW ORLEANS: YOUR TAX CUTS AT WORK
When a baby dies in filth, surrounded by its destroyed city, we must all share the blame.
New Orleans died because we didn't do enough to protect her. We didn't do enough to support the interests of communities over the interests of lobbyists. We didn't do enough to invest in the future of America instead of allowing war profiteers to steal it. We didn't do enough to stand up for education, science, and authentic human compassion against the hypocritical Moralizers who profane the scriptures they claim to champion.
It's time to wake up! It's time to fight!
Government is the only power that protects the working people of this nation from abuse by the rich and powerful. Our government is now dominated by enemies of working men and women. The ethic of responsible government never enters their minds.
Extremists across the nation work daily from a thousand elected offices to strip the power of government by starving it of resources while giving huge benefits to freeloading billionaires. They must be removed.
Any official who has signed a "No Taxes" pledge must be removed from office by all communities of conscience.
No official who has signed such a pledge should ever be elected again in this nation.
We have watched the corrupt elected toadies of corporate malfeasance sell the American dream into oblivion. Our inaction has cost our brothers and sisters in New Orleans their homes, their beloved city, and their lives.
When a beligerent nationalism is combined with a government ruled by large corporate interests, a republic ends, replaced with something too ugly to name. We have precious little time, and it falls to us to save the beauty of this nation from the gorgons of greed and ignorance.
Elections have consequences. Make every one count.
