Inspired by how the AYD/Webb for Senate "Generation Webb" program helped make a difference in Jim Webb's 9,300 vote margin of victory, the Arlington Young Democrats (AYD) are inviting the talented, local Capitol Hill-centric Young Democrats throughout the metro-area to descend upon the nation's capital for an opportunity to join forces and build alliances with over a dozen of their fellow groups from Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.
With over 150 attendees expected, the group is hosting this first-ever regional event of its kind at the popular nightspot Top of the Hill from 6:00-9:00pm Tuesday, March 13th.
This year's Virginia young democrat agenda includes winning back the State Senate (three possible pick up seats are located in Fairfax) and House of Delegates, including the Prince William seat held by Bob Marshall, co-sponsor of Amendment #1 to ban gay marriage as well as civil unions and domestics partnership for all Virginia couples. Meanwhile, Virginia's role as a new battleground state has already helped fuel recruitment for the 2008 presidential campaigns.
MEDIA: Interviews are available with AYD President/Generation Webb Founder Jim McBride, "Draft Webb" Co-Founder Josh Chernila and other co-host representatives.
