Deep Question of the Day

Do all those Kerry-Edwards bumper stickers still on people's cars help or hurt John Edwards?  Or, do they not make a damn bit of difference?  That's it, that's my deep question of the day.  What, you were expecting rocket science or something? :)

I say it's still there 'cause I just ain't getting over it.  It's also there as a surrogate sticker advocating election reform.

If I wasn't the inert, apathetic slug I was prior to the Gore campaign, (that fiasco is what lit the fire under my dead butt) I would have a Gore sticker too.

Since my job has me travelling over several voting districts, I'm usually asked, "Who's that?" about stickers from remote areas and the Kerry/Edwards inquiries rarely come up.

reverse polyanthropomorphism (Silence Dogood - 3/6/2007 1:02:24 PM)
John Kerry has the distinction of being both the albatros hanging around Edwards' neck and the monkey riding his back--making him essentially one of those flying monkey things from the Wizard of Oz.

Ha. I don't know what this means exactly, (Lowell - 3/6/2007 8:22:22 PM)
but it's very funny. :)

Kerry stickers? (drmontoya - 3/6/2007 1:06:19 PM)
Don't have them on my car. I will keep the one Webb sticker I've had since March '06. And the Clark '08 sticker holding out hope! =)

I totalled my old 87 Topaz (dark pink-it was a good thing) (phriendlyjaime - 3/6/2007 8:34:20 PM)
in November of 2004.  I had probably 20 stickers on it, all political or musical in nature.  So, no; I don't have a Kerry sticker on my car now.  Currently, I have a Tim Kaine sticker, a first edition "Jim Webb, Born Fighting" sticker, and a DFA sticker.  I have a Chap Peterson sticker somewhere, but I gotta find it.  Unfortunately, it was given to me the dark day that tOSU lost to the evil Florida Gators.

::wipes tear::

I had a lot of great stickers, including "Bush...like a rock, only dumber", a few Democracy for America stickers, a "Re-elect Re-Defeat Bush" sticker, and more.  But I gotta say, my favorite sticker was non-political.  It was a simple black sticker, all lower case letters in white that stated "my dog is better than yours".  I loved that one, esp. when Linus (my adorable and kickass Black Lab/Blue Tick Coonhound mix) was in the car with me.

And yeah, he is totally better than all of your dogs.  ;)

When I saw the line on the front page that everyone's favorite girl Jaime had totaled her car I was a little worried, but I'm glad that is behind her.

I'd like to commend Silence Dogood, but lets not forget that The Nation scored with an immediately classic cover when they put the dumbest monkey genus (Orango-bushoon) in the forest on our hero George Allen's back last year.  I think I still have a couple copies of that issue and I made sure my brothers Josh and Lowell got a copy.

I would still have my Kerry sticker on my car, but I bought a hybrid a few months ago.  My car is still clean, awaiting my widely anticipated endorsement of Barack Obama.

I don't think the Kerry-Edwards stickers help Edwards much Lowell.  Maybe a little name recognition.

I want to humbly apologize to all the monkeys out there for any offense I may have given.  No species is perfect.  I care about all the monkeys, except for one.
