In addition to the speakers and other elected officials, every campaign worker you have ever spoke to or seen an email from was there. It was really an awesome event.
Here are some of the photos I took. They are not very good, but we were probably sitting too far back to take pictures.
All of the speakers gave outstanding speeches. In fact, some of them surprised me by what good speakers they were. One quote that stuck out for me was from Ferguson. He said, "I am not going to give them hell. I am going to tell the truth and they will think it's hell."
Before and after the event all of the candidates stuck around and met with voters and media. I could have taken photos then, but I was too busy meeting everyone. It was awesome getting to shake hands with people I admire so much. Even more amazing is when they say "oh yeah, you are the blogger from Southwest Virginia. Love your blog." :)
The event was obviously meant to motivate the troops. If people did not leave there wanting to go home and start working to elect Kaine and other Democrats, I am not sure what else the candidates could have done. Governor Warner, Congressman Boucher, and Tim Kaine were all outstanding and really had the crowd going.
