This morning, the Democratic candidate for the House of Delegate's 88th District, Carlos Del Toro, recieved a message on his Blackberry. It was from a friend of his who also served his country, and who happens to be a Republican. His friend wrote that he and his wife were donating $500 to the Del Toro campaign. Not because Carlos is a Democrat obviously, but because he knows who Cmdr. Del Toro is as a person. Character and integrity is the surest way to get people to cross party lines. And in the 88th, that's exactly what you need.
This morning in Fredericksburg, Carlos addressed an enthusiastic group of supporters along with Brian Moran, who's making this race one of his priorities this year. Tomorrow, anyone who's anyone will be at the Del Toro campaign's official Kick-Off from 2-4 at the Liberty Center Lanes & Catering Hall in Stafford including myself, Del. Moran, Spotsylvania Board Chairman Hap Connors, and legendary former Fredericksburg Mayor Rev. Lawrence Davies. Come one, come all, bring a friend. :)
