Humans are suffering in New Orleans, and we all need to be as generous as possible in helping them. Now. But while we're helping our fellow humans, let's not forget our furry, four-legged friends, either. Many of them are stranded without food or water and are desperately awaiting rescue by their beloved owners -- who can't reach them and are frantically calling humane societies around New Orleans. Anyway, I strongly urge that people are also generous to animal rescue charities in coming days. Here are some places to donate:
