John Warner has announced that he will back fellow Armed Services member and U.S. Senator John McCain in 2008.
The five-term Virginia senator cited McCain's service in the Navy and his familiarity with military issues in a statement backing his longtime friend, who is expected to formally announce his candidacy next month.
Any thoughts? I still wonder if aging John Warner will run for re-election in '08 himself.

Apparently McCain's cozying up to the very rightwingnuts he originally excirated is okay with Senator Warner. Maybe McCain's attack on Donald Rumsfeld was partial downpayment on Warner's backing.

that McCain goes the way of the last man to "win" an endorsement from John 'Senility' Warner - George 'Macacawitz' Allen (r-civilian).
Regressive (Houdon - 2/26/2007 11:56:59 PM)
Is insulting a senior statesman who has accomplished more in a week than you will in a lifetime what passes for progressivism here? I'd take late onset senility over early onset stupidity any day.

Yes a senior statesman who is killing the troops and making a mess of our foreign policy. A senior statesman who is a liar among many other things. A senior statesman who claims to be for the troops but does not give a dam about them. A senior statesman who knows that recruiters are liars and promise all kinds of benefits and bonuses to join the armed service and allows those recruiters to lie just so they meet their quota. A senior statesman that could not make a good pimple on a service man's ass.
That senile old man needs to get out before he really embarrasses his party.
Like accomplishing more towards destroying this country in a week, then I could ever do in a lifetime.
