Richard Twohig's descent into permanent severe headaches and bureaucracy movingly described in Sunday Post magazine.

Should be a Rallying Cry for Action (b crowe - 2/24/2007 11:41:50 PM)
Gates' comments are most welcome. This is the first time I can recall hearing a Bush dministration official voice dismay over acts of gross negligence for which they are responsible.

However, these tragic stories are just more in a long history of Bush administration neglect and mismanagement connected with the Iraq occupation. No matter what Gates does, the Congress should use this as the straw that broke the camel's back to investigate all war spending and cutoff the money.

Too many Bush cronies running the show.  The last agency I was in, which called for high levels of economics or financial knowledge, was filled with political hires from the Republican National Committee.

6 years after Veterans Healthcare Taskforce (hereinva - 2/26/2007 1:04:17 PM)
On May 28, 2001, President Bush signed an Executive Order that established a 15 member special task force: "Presidents Task Force to Improve Health Care Delivery for Our Nation's Veterans."

There is still a WH link: [http://www.whitehous...]

What has the task force been doing these last 6 years ?  Seems WR provides a great photo-op backdrop and creates lots of "warm and fuzzies"..

Our wounded soldiers deserve the best medical care; is that too much to ask for persons willing to make the ultimate sacrifice.

The "4th estate" brings it home- front and center. Wonder how many other Vet Hospitals are facing similar care crisis ?
