This would be hilarious if it weren't so...actually, come to think of it, it IS hilarious!

Cheney also said McCain recently apologized to him for telling "The Politico" last month that President Bush "listened too much to the vice president" and "was very badly served by both the vice president and, most of all, the secretary of defense."

The vice president said the Arizona Republican came up to him on the Senate floor a few days later, "said he'd been quoted out of context and then basically offered an apology, which I was happy to accept."

"John said some nasty things about me the other day, and then next time he saw me, ran over to me and apologized," Cheney said. "Maybe he'll apologize to Rumsfeld."

Hey John, Dick, who's sorry now? :)

I Almost Feel Sorry For McCain (BP - 2/23/2007 12:56:55 PM)
Almost, but not quite.  He's old enough to know that if you crack a deal with thugs, you're gonna find a knife or two in your back in fairly short order.  All that Bush/Cheney butt kissing he did in '04 was supposed to guarantee smooth sailing to the '08 nomination.  Well, sometimes the best laid plans of mice and McCains.....

Please step back... (cycle12 - 2/23/2007 3:56:06 PM)
...and allow John McCain to self-destruct politically.

As a direct result of his very public capitulation to Jerry Falwell late last year and now this more recent type of strange behavior, McCain's gone from a guy whom I somewhat admired a few short years ago to this walking political enigma and blatant contradiction of today.

May McCain and others of his ilk continue to do their utmost to help hold open the door for our 2008 Democratic presidential candidates.

Thanks!
