Yesterday, Lieberman headlined two fundraisers for Kaine that raised a combined $100,000. That's not bad for a day's work. It's also an interesting strategy by Tim Kaine to demonstrate that he is his own man, a "special" kind of Democrat, and a "Southern centrist." Finally, I would point out that Lieberman's visit is a fascinating bookend to the earlier visit by Barack Obama, one of the most popular politicians in the country. Obviously, the Democratic Party is united behind Tim Kaine. I would strongly hope and expect to see more popular, moderate Democrats coming to the Commonwealth for Tim Kaine before November 8.
