Anybody who tells you that we are about to end Western civilization by using general fund money has lost all touch with reality. It is so funny it could make a cat laugh.
OK, all you cat owners out there, please tell your favorite furry feline about Republic(an) plans to take $250 million out of the General Fund and see how they react. I bet you a bag of catnip that they don't laugh, unless they're spitting up furballs at Lingamfelter and his Republic(an) friends' new contradictions in logic. Try it, and let us all know how it goes! :)
P.S. Speaking of flaws in logic, you might also want to tell your cat about how Scott Lingamfelter has used the logical flaw known as "the strawman tactic" (attributing foolish arguments to your opponent). Since when has anyone argued that Western civilization is at risk by using $250 million per year from the General Fund? No, the only ones at risk are the elderly, the young, the sick, the needy, the citizens who want to be protected by police and firefighters or who enjoy having a healthy environment, etc., etc. But definitely not Western civilization itself; no, Bush and Cheney (and Virgil Goode) are hard at work to safeguard us all against the Islamo-fascistic hordes out there. Come to think of it, if you want to make your cat laugh, perhaps you should tell them about THAT!
Here's another analogy from Wild Kingdom. Right after the ice storm passed I put feed in all the bird feeders and then spilled a couple of quarts on the ground, because I knew the feeder would be popular.
One wren was in the middle of this pile chasing away all the other birds. "Hey, it's mine, all mine."
Lingamfelter is one of the most anti-progressive delegates in a legislature filled with them
