...The Granite State Democrat said that he and Gore recently had "a long conversation." The call took place over the weekend and was initiated by Mr. Gore...
My first thought is former Gov. Jeanne Shaheen, who was reportedly on Gore's short list for possible runningmates in 2000. Shaheen endorsed John Kerry in 2004. However, Cosmo refers to this unnamed Democrat as "he" in one sentence, and "they" in another. This blogger is trying to be coy, so I don't know if that's just a mistake on their part or what.
New Hampshire has a popular Democratic Governor in John Lynch, but I don't think he plans on taking sides in the presidential race. Any ideas?
UPDATE: Looks like this might be blown way out of proportion. According to the Boston Globe, State Senator Lou D'Allesandro (D-Manchester) called Gore to congratulate him on his Nobel Peace Prize nomination and the Oscar nomination for the documentary, An Inconvenient Truth. Politics didn't even come up. The article also states that D'Allesandro will likely support John Edwards for President this year.
And, on a personal note, can people please stop calling Al Gore an Oscar Nominee? Davis Guggenheim is the producer of the film and it's his nomination. There's no such thing as the 'Best Actor in a Documentary' category. And if I explain to you why that is, I give up.
It's not like Arthur Agee and William Gates won an award for Hoop Dreams. And I know Roger Smith didn't take home anything for Roger and Me. Sorry folks.
His wife Jeanne says she's too busy with her new position at Harvard to get involved. I hope she runs against Sununu again.
Okay.. I guess I might love SNL just a tad.
