Virginia GOP Tears Itself Apart? You Decide.

See here and here.  The following paragraph is a sample of the language being used by Republican vs. Republican. It comes courtesy of Mike Wade, chairman of the Republican Party of Hamption and chairman of the Republican Third Congressional District Committee. Wade sent an angry letter to Jim Bacon at Bacon's Rebellion, and Bacon reprinted it with the title, "Sic Semper Tyrannis."

I ask all members of the Republican Party in Virginia that truly believe in Ronald Reagan's great legacy to rally. I ask those members who believe as Jefferson did that government is a burden upon the people who own it, to take action against Sen. Chichester. Sen. John Chichester has no honor and knows no shame. Chichester and his cohorts are the reason the Republican message has been lost and diluted in Virginia. If we are to maintain a majority based on Republican principles and the understanding of who owns the government then we must work statewide to remove this pariah.

Yes, Mr. Wade, Club for Growth, etc., please please PLEASE spend all your energies from now until November on removing "pariahs" from your party.  Seriously (wink wink), I can't think of anything better for you guys to be doing this year! :)

P.S.  Looks like you've got your work cut out for you, Mr. Gillespie!  Ha.

[UPDATE:  This paragraph is classic, managing to insult both Jim Webb AND Mark Warner.

This is the same Senator that made a political nothing, Gov. Mark R. Warner, a presidential hopeful. What good is it to be a Republican if all you do is ally with the opposition and further their liberal socialist message? I see no difference between John Chichester and that scoundrel Jim Webb who believe that taxes are the only solution to the problems facing Virginia.

This must be a joke, right?  I mean, there's no way that Virginia Republicans would be so stupid as to attack Jim Webb AND Mark Warner, right?  Right? Hmmmm....]

How long are they going to whine (Chris Guy - 2/4/2007 11:33:44 PM)
about Chichester before actually doing something about it? These empty threats are becoming tiresome.

They are trying to do something about Chichester.... (FxbAmy - 2/5/2007 2:08:01 PM)
Russ Moulton shanghaid the 28th Repub nominating committee and stated publically that his sole goal is to remove Chichester from office.  The vote was 7-1 I believe.  (proof positive that politics are decided by who shows up...)  He will definitely be primaried from the extreme right wing of his party.

Wade calls Jim Webb a "scoundrel" (Silver Fox - 2/5/2007 7:47:11 AM)
In a delightful case of sour grapes, Wade also calls Jim Webb a "scoundrel" and Mark Warner "a political nothing" in his letter.  Ha!  If they keep going at this rate, we can all watch the Virginia Republicans implode all on their own  while we sip mint juleps and rock on the front porch.  Not.  It's our duty to help them into retirement but they're sure trying to make our job easier.
