"Streamlining" our Forests Into Sawdust

The grassroots Virginia environmental group Virginia Forest Watch, currently has an important "Action Alert" affecting the Virginia environment. We at RaisingKaine hope you will take a minute to go over there and electronically forward their letter to the Forest Service, the President, and your representatives in Congress right away -- the deadline for public comments is tomorrow!
While you're at it, you might want to think about who would be better on key environmental issues facing Virginia -- Jerry "No Tree Left Behind' Kilgore or Tim Kaine. Hint: according to the Virginia League of Conservation Voters 2004 Scorecard, Jerry's twin brother Terry was given a big fat "Legislator Zero" rating for 2004 based on his absolutely abysmal environmental voting record.
In contrast, Democrats Viola Baskerville, Creigh Deeds, and Chap Petersen all received 100% ratings in 2004 (Leslie Byrne received a 100% rating in 2003, her last year in the State Senate). Meanwhile, the Virginia LCV endorsed Tim Kaine in his 2001 run for Lt. Governor.
The bottom line? If you care about Virginia's environment and open space, the choice at the ballot box this November will not be a difficult one to make.
