The Family Foundation's latest "family value???" campaign

Friday's Richmond Times Dispatch reports that the Family Foundation of Virginia, the leading proponent for last year's constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriages in Virginia, would now like to tighten up divorce laws by requiring mutual consent of the spouses for families with minor children.

While I would hope that divorce might be the last resort for unhappy spouses, I find this attempt by the Family Foundation to decide how we live our personal lives completely unacceptable. Does their proposal mean that a spouse in an abusive relationship would be forced to remain married if the abuser said "no, I don't want a divorce"?
Further the article states that the Family Foundation will use it's list of 500,000 surveyed households it compliled last September (prior to November's same sex ballot issue) to lobby legislators, although they do not yet have a GA sponsor.
I say leave no-fault divorces in place and work on finding out why 1 in 2 marriages end in divorce and then figure out how to best provide these families the counselling they might need.

Weren't their children minors when Tom began as campaign manager for Mrs. Jeannemarie Devolites? That was in
1996-97, so their college-age children today must have been minors.

As to make sure that that requirement is only envoked when it is the male which needs to give consent.
Have they not heard of progression and how in the world would you make a person stay in a marriage if they do not choose.
