Expanding on an idea in the comments, there are plenty of great slogan possibilities for the Jim Gilmore for President campaign.
Catzmaw had the first entry:
Jim Gilmore: Mediocrity on the March!
Good one! I like "No Income Tax!" or "Traditional Fiscal Conservatism: Broken Promises and Budgets" too. Got a better one? Best entry wins a lunch with Bob Taft's presidential exploratory committee.

NO BS! (cycle12 - 12/20/2006 12:56:56 PM)
Many years ago, when Dick Cranwell was still in the GA ("Those were the days, my friend, we thought they'd never end..."), in reference to Jim Gilmore's preposterous, problematic, ridiculous "NO CAR TAX" theme, Cranwell once pronounced that he had considered the "NO BS!" theme for future campaigns.
Therefore, I would submit the NO BS! one for consideration.
But wait, that wouldn't be true for Gilmore, would it?
Oh, never mind...
But thanks!

I previously offered in the other thread (Newport News Dem - 12/20/2006 1:06:01 PM)
Vote Gilmore - I am responsible for Governors Mark Warner, Tim Kaine and Senator Jim Webb!
Good one, "NND"! (cycle12 - 12/20/2006 1:13:41 PM)
And, to make it briefer and more like a bumper sticker or billboard (eight words or less), it could be shortened to:
VOTE GILMORE - DOOR OPENER
FOR WARNER, KAINE, WEBB
Hmmmm... "door opener"; I really like the sound of that one for him.
Thanks!

I'll Break It, You'll Own it. (thegools - 12/20/2006 1:13:17 PM)
Gilmore (DukieDem - 12/20/2006 1:21:58 PM)
If Gilmore doesn't campaign on a fairtax platform, I'm going to be very dissapointed.
Great ideas so far, tough to beat . . . (JPTERP - 12/20/2006 3:05:41 PM)
How about
Jim Gilmore: The 40% solution!
(40% being the amount of votes he would notch in a general election).
Perfect, JP! (cycle12 - 12/20/2006 6:19:08 PM)
Thanks for making me laugh out loud (that's getting to be a daily occurrence here) with your explanation of the 40% solution!

Slogans for Jim Gilmore (Tom Counts - 12/20/2006 3:54:00 PM)
Given his core campaign pitch that he would be the only true conservative running for Pres. and given that he cut a billion dollars of annual tax revenue via his no car/boat tax initiative with no tax source left to pay for core government services - especially education, which he desprateey needs himself - how about something like "Fiscal Conservative Defined: Fiscally Irresponsibility". Needs some work, but I think you get the idea. Maybe a series of slogans based on this theme, e.g. "I'm proud to have almost succeeded in lowering Virginia's bond rating so my banker contributors could have charge Va. a higher interest rate". Or "I supported education by making sure that the taxpayers wouldn't have to waste money on teachers' salaries and police pay".
